Welcome to Gaza is a play made out of 19 plays written by children from Gaza and the. occupied West Bank. They were submitted for the Hands Up Project’s annual remote theatre competition in 2017, 2018 or 2019 and previously published in Hands up publications, Toothbrush, Welcome to Earth and Popcorn. Playwright Peter Oswald has created a frame whereby the plays are being performed live somewhere outside Palestine, in order to be judged; they are continually interrupted by verbatim audio, written and video messages direct from the genocide in Gaza. So the play portrays life in Gaza both before and after the watershed of October 7th 2023.
